Introduction Omega Diagnostics Group PLC was established in September 2006 when Omega Diagnostics Limited completed a “reverse acquisition” of an AIM Listed Cash Shell Company called Quintessentially English PLC. In September 2007, the Group completed the acquisition of Genesis Diagnostics Ltd and Cambridge Nutritional Sciences Ltd.
Omega sells a wide range of immunoassay-based products in the in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) market, through a strong distribution network in over 100 countries.
Omega operates in niche markets, supplying tests based on agglutination, enzyme immunoassay (EIA), fluorescence, rapid and microarray technologies. Omega specialises in the diagnosis of infectious diseases including Syphilis, TB, Dengue Fever, Chagas Disease and Malaria. Omega has recently added food intolerance and autoimmune tests for diseases such as anaemia, connective tissue disease and renal disease.
All products are designed for use in Clinical Laboratories and Rapid Tests are designed for use at the point of care.
Omega’s export success was officially recognised with the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement in 1993.
